Fat Freddy’s Cat Vengeance Cartoon T-Shirt
Give your everyday wardrobe a dose of underground-comics humour. This Fat Freddy’s Cat T-shirt features Gilbert Shelton’s Vengeance cartoon, bringing the character’s mischievous spirit to a retro graphic tee. It’s a distinctive choice for fans of classic comic strips, counterculture art and The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.
Pull it on with your favourite jeans for a weekend coffee, an afternoon browsing records or a relaxed evening with friends. The ringspun cotton jersey makes an easy casual staple, while Shelton’s cartoon gives it personality beyond a plain tee. Choose from 13 colours and sizes Small to 3XL.
The story behind the cartoon
Gilbert Shelton created Fat Freddy’s Cat in 1969 as a spin-off from The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. His strips appeared in the Austin underground newspaper The Rag and in Feds ’n’ Heads, which he self-published in 1968 and which was later reissued by Print Mint. In 1969 he also co-founded Rip Off Press with Fred Todd, Dave Moriaty and Jack Jackson. This Vengeance cartoon T-shirt brings that irreverent underground-comix spirit into your casual wardrobe.
