Glastonbury CND Festival 1985 — 'Spirit of Lennon' Official Retro Sweatshirt
The final design in the series. For 1985, Great Alternative Stores chose John Lennon — killed five years earlier — as the face of the festival. Michael Eavis questioned the relevance. We still can't fully explain it. But if Lennon had been alive, he would have been there.
This is the fifth and final design in the official Glastonbury Collection, covering 1981–1985 — the years when Great Alternative Stores produced the official festival shirts for Glastonbury. Every original was screen printed using hand-cut stencils. No Photoshop. No shortcuts.
A little history from our founder: "I first turned up at Glastonbury as the last-minute driver for T Rex in Mark Bolan's zebra-stripe flock-covered Cadillac in 1970 — and never really left. Entry was £1."
These reproductions are sharper than the originals, but the soul is the same.
